There's no doubt that the second-generation Nexus 7 will be revealed during the breakfast meeting with Google's Sundar Pichai. In fact, Best Buy has confirmed it by listing the 16 GB model for $229.99 USD on its website. Currently the tablet is marked as "coming soon", but a previous leak of Sunday's Best Buy ad shows the tablet as being available next Tuesday.

The product listing specs reveal that the second-generation Nexus 7 will arrive with Android 4.3 "Jelly Bean" out of the box, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 8064 chip with a 2 MB L2 cache and clocked at 1.5 GHz. The 7 inch IPS panel promises 10-point touch input, a brightness of 300 cd/m2, a 1920 x 120 resolution and 178 degree viewing angles. The screen is protected by scratch-resistant glass and "anti-fingerprint" technology to reduce smudges left behind by oily fingertips.

The new tablet also sports a 5MP camera on the back, a 1.2MP camera on the front, Bluetooth 4.0, and a micro USB 2.0 port with SlimPort, meaning it's capable of spitting out HDMI video and audio through the microUSB port thanks to DisplayPort technology and a special microUSB-to-HDMI adapter. This prevents Asus from having to cram an extra microHDMI port in the tablet.

The new Nexus 7 model also features 2 GB of DDR3LM memory, GPS, a one-cell lithium-polymer battery, Adreno 320 graphics (part of the Snapdragon chip), and Wireless N connectivity – the listing doesn't specify single-band or dual-band. The device weighs just 11.2 ounces and measures just 0.3 inches thin, making it less bulky than the first-generation offering.

As a recap, the older Nexus 7 tablet features a 7 inch multi-touch IPS panel with a 1280 x 800 resolution powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 clocked at 1.2 GHz. It also has 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage, a microUSB 2.0 port supporting USB OTG, Bluetooth 3.0 and single-band Wireless N connectivity. It measures 0.411 inches thin and weighs around 12 ounces for the Wi-Fi only version.
The newer Nexus 7 model will also be offered with a 32 GB storage capacity for $269 USD. For a short period, Best Buy was offering consumers a chance to pre-purchase both models, but as of this writing, the products have nee removed from the site's search engine and the pre-order capabilities disabled. These product pages will likely return after the tablet is officially announced by Google.
